The Headspace program's mission is to deliver improvements in the mental health, social wellbeing and economic participation of young Australian's aged 12 - 25. This includes providing funding to improve services for young people who may be experiencing mental health and/or drug and alcohol issues and the latest information about these important health issues for young people.
Headspace Campbelltown is a program of One Door Mental Health.
The Youth Access Clinician is responsible for effectively engaging, screening, assessing and coordinating the care of young people aged between 12 - 25 years with diverse mental health, general health, vocational or drug/alcohol service needs who are referred to or access headspace Campbelltown within an early intervention framework.
Position Specific Responsibilities
YACs are the first point of contact for young people contacting headspace for assistance. This role requires an excellent understanding of the psychological and physical health needs of young people, excellent communication and engagement skills to build rapport with young people, assessment skills and planning and co-ordination of person centred services.
YACs deliver therapeutic interventions, liaise and negotiate with families and carers, education and employment services, drug and alcohol services and provide information about headspace to the community.
